Hmm while I am absolutely certain there's been reply after reply of not good enough I would like to add a few points...
First, Zulu is right about MT, I've even read stuff from Blizz about their toying with the idea of a cash shop in lieu of a subscription, so don't get your panties all in a wad, Blizzard has billions in assets, and even they are considering whether it is best in the longrun to switch to MT, even tho they decided against it, obviously. That memo does not mean CCP is going this route, it just means they have brave souls within the company willing to play the Devil's Advocate and argue for or against MT and many other things.
Second... the expansion really was smooth, sure maybe it's because there were not vast all encompassing changes made to the mechanics of the game (outside a station) but for the most part, it came and went with little to no real problems (besides the fried computers, but that has happened with each major graphics update CCP has ever done, I remember the outrage when they removed the Classic client, it was just as bad).
Third, give up the ghost already, you should have seen the outcry over delay upon delay for Ambulation in the past three years, CCP is wrong they said, CCP is evil, they're toying with us, leading us on, Ambulation will never come out, Ambulation is the Duke Nukem of EVE, and etc. and etc.
Now they finally release the framework for it, and it's a sea of clamor that there's not enough, well... get over it, CCP does not have, never did have, and never WILL have unlimited resources to make this game flawless, and they never needed that until the subscriber base began churning out new player after player with the Warcraft mentality, instant gratification, burn through content in weeks and clamor for more, never satisfied no matter the highs or lows of the development in the game, and the older players started moving on in ever increasing numbers.
EVE was never perfect, will never BE perfect, and never HAS been perfect, but at one time, it's players were, for all their good and bad, honorable or unscrupulous, greedy or generous, the subscriber base a few years ago was the most magnificent group of bastards you've ever seen in an MMO.
Now? Look at yourselves, a sorry lot of content junkies and nonsensical bumblers, what became of the greatest MMO community of the new century?
CCP makes mistakes, sure, a LOT of mistakes, but it was always that way, your predecessors only left because people like YOU began to grossly outnumber them, not because the game was lacking. Players decided to scrap ransoms, players decided to take FULL advantage of the failure of the Dominion mechanic, players decided to begin botting in droves to combat apathy amongst 0.0 dwellers that were dwindling interest and initiative. Players.
Fry me if you will, but I remember the time a few years back, when the old guard were all still here, players truly policing other players, and they would not have stood for your ****.
I may be just as unhappy with all the unfulfilled dreams and promises that CCP has made to us over the short three and a half years I myself have been around, but it was never a problem until the players made it a problem. We never needed perfection to make EVE perfect, sometimes the best thing in the world is the girl next door, sure she's not perfect, but she's been there for you all along.
